FOAM SUPPRESSION OVERVIEW
Our foam suppression systems are expertly designed to smother flammable liquid fires by forming a thick blanket of foam over the flames which prevent the from spreading across the premises or reigniting. Our foam suppression systems are suitable for application in many different environments, including but not limited to:
- Petrochemical and chemical processing facilities
- Fuel storage and distribution facilities
- Aircraft hangars and aviation facilities
- Marine and offshore
- Warehouses and storage areas
- Manufacturing and industrial facilities
TYPES OF FOAM SUPPRESSION
AQUEOUS FILM-FORMING FOAM (AFFF)
Our AFFF agents form a thin film over the surface of highly flammable liquids, preventing the release of vapours that may ignite and immediately suppressing the fire hazard. We recommend AFFF solutions in applications where Class B fires involving flammable liquids are a concern, such as fuel storage facilities, petrochemical plants, and aviation facilities.
PROTEIN-BASED FOAM
Our protein-based foam agents are made out of natural proteins and are very effective at suppressing polar solvent and hydrocarbon fuel fires. We recommend our protein-based foam suppressants in applications where Class B fires involving alcohol-based fuels, such as ethanol or methanol, are a concern.
