INTRUSION DETECTION OVERVIEW
At Atexa Fire and Security Solutions, we understand the importance of protecting your premises and assets from unauthorized access and intrusion. That’s why we offer advanced intruder detection systems, designed to detect and deter intruders while providing peace of mind for you and your business. Intruder detection systems are suitable for a variety of applications and environments, including:
• Commercial and retail establishments
• Office buildings and corporate facilities
• Warehouses and industrial sites
• Educational institutions
• Healthcare facilities
• Residential properties
TYPES OF INSTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEMS
In the UK, intruder detection systems are graded according to their level of security and risk. The grades, as defined by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in BS EN 50131, are as follows:
MOTION SENSORS
Our motion sensors can detect changes in movement within a defined area and will trigger an alarm when motion is detected. They can be installed indoors or outdoors and are available in various types.
DOOR AND WINDOW CONTACTS
Our door and window contacts will detect when a window or door is opened or closed. When the magnet sensor is disrupted, the system then triggers an alarm which indicates unauthorized entry.
GLASS BREAK DETECTORS
Our glass break sensors can detect the sound characteristics of breaking glass. When the sensor detects this sound, an alarm is triggered which alerts occupants of a potential break in.
WIRED SYSTEMS
Our wired systems use physical cables to connect sensors and control panels. Due to the reliability and stability that these systems offer, they are an ideal option for new construction or retrofit installations.
WIRELESS SYSTEMS
If you want to install sensors in an environment where wiring is impractical, wireless systems are a great option. They use radio frequency technology between sensors, detectors and control panels without the need for physical cables.
GRADING OF SYSTEMS
In the UK, intruder detection systems are graded according to their level of security and risk. The grades, as defined by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in BS EN 50131, are as follows:
GRADE 1
Low-risk systems suitable for residential properties or premises with a low risk of intrusion. These systems may offer basic detection capabilities and minimal resistance to tampering.
GRADE 2
Medium-risk systems suitable for small to medium-sized commercial properties or premises with a moderate risk of intrusion. These systems offer enhanced detection capabilities and resistance to tampering.
GRADE 3
High-risk systems suitable for larger commercial properties or premises with a higher risk of intrusion. These systems offer advanced detection capabilities, multiple detection zones, and resistance to sophisticated tampering attempts.
GRADE 4
Very high-risk systems suitable for critical infrastructure or high-security premises with an elevated risk of intrusion. These systems offer the highest level of detection capabilities, multiple detection zones, and resistance to sophisticated tampering attempts.
