Protecting Your Business with Fire Suppression Systems

Rapid and effective fire suppression is critical to minimising damage and safeguarding your people, premises and assets. Here at Atexa, we design and install advanced suppression systems that are tailored to the layout and requirements of your business. Our aim is simple; to stop a fire quickly and safely while reducing disruption and long-term impact.

Gas Suppression Systems

Gas suppression is great where sensitive or valuable equipment needs to be protected without the risk of water or foam damage. These systems use agents that extinguish fires fast and leave no residue, making them particularly effective in critical environments such as:

  • Data centres and server rooms
  • Telecommunications facilities
  • Electrical rooms and control areas
  • Museums and Archives
  • Industrial processes and manufacturing sites

We offer three types of gas suppression:

Inert Gas Systems
Using blends like Argonite (argon and nitrogen) or Inergen (nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide), these systems displace oxygen to stop combustion. They are a reliable choice for protecting IT systems, archives and sensitive areas where disruption needs to be kept to a minimum.

Clean Agent Systems
Clean agents use chemical compounds that leave no residue, making them great for protecting valuable assets in places such as museums or galleries. They extinguish fires quick and safely without harming property, equipment or collections.

CO₂ Systems
Carbon dioxide systems stop fires by displacing oxygen and are highly effective in industrial applications such as power plants, manufacturing facilities and engine rooms. They provide a rapid response where quick knockdown of flames is essential.

Foam Suppression Systems

Foam suppression is the best solution for tackling flammable liquid fires. By creating a thick blanket of foam over the surface, flames are smothered and prevented from spreading or reigniting. These systems are commonly used in:

  • Petrochemical and chemical processing facilities
  • Fuel storage and distribution sites
  • Aircraft hangars
  • Marine and offshore environments
  • Warehouses and industrial plants

We offer different foam technologies depending on the fire risks:

Aqueous Film-Forming Foam

Aqueous Film-Forming Foam agents create a thin film that seals the surface of flammable liquids, preventing vapours from igniting. This is effective for Class B fires in fuel storage, petrochemical and aviation facilities.

Protein Based Foam
Made from natural proteins, Protein Based Foam is designed to combat alcohol based and hydrocarbon fuel fires, such as those involving ethanol or methanol. It is typically used in chemical plants and fuel processing sites.

Water Mist Suppression Systems

Water mist suppression uses very fine droplets to cool and suffocate flames, stopping fires from spreading while reducing water damage. Because less water is needed than in traditional sprinkler systems, water mist is ideal for sites where equipment, furnishings or structures must be protected.

Suitable environments include:

  • Commercial and industrial facilities
  • Hotels and hospitality venues
  • Healthcare facilities
  • Data centres
  • Museums, heritage sites and historic buildings

Key advantages include:

  • Effective suppression of Class A, B and C fires, including cooking oil and grease fires
  • Reduced water use compared to conventional sprinklers, lowering cleanup costs
  • Minimal residue, making post-event recovery quicker and easier
  • Safe for occupied spaces, as the droplets are small enough to limit steam burns and property damage

Why choose Atexa for suppression

Every business is different, which is why our experienced engineers take time to understand your risks and design a system that matches your needs. From design and installation through to ongoing maintenance, we provide a complete service, giving you confidence that your suppression system will be ready when you need it most.
